Challenges

What keeps hoteliers busy today

01
Housekeeping under pressure

Room and floor cleaning are labour-intensive, and staff are hard to find. At the same time, guests rate cleanliness as one of the most important criteria – every fluctuation gets noticed.

02
Cleanliness as a review factor

Corridors, the lobby and the breakfast area shape the first impression. Visible cleanliness feeds directly into reviews and repeat bookings.

03
Service around the clock

Guests expect service in the evening and at night too – from in-room delivery to information. With a lean team, that is barely viable economically.

Robots in hotels: cleaning, service and the guest experience

In the hotel business, two worlds collide: high expectations for cleanliness and service – and a labour market where housekeeping and service staff are almost impossible to find. Robotics closes exactly this gap: vacuuming robots keep guest floors and corridors consistently clean, scrubber-dryer robots maintain the lobby and conference areas, and serving and delivery robots take over the legwork in the restaurant and to the room. Your team focuses on what guests genuinely perceive as service.

Carpet or hard floor – which robot for which area?

For carpeted guest floors and corridors, an autonomous vacuuming robot such as the R3 Vac is the right fit. Hard-floor areas in the lobby, restaurant and conference zone are handled by a scrubber-dryer robot such as the R5. In most properties, the combination of both is the most economical setup – which areas are worthwhile is something we determine in the site assessment.

How does floor-by-floor cleaning actually work?

The robot cleans each floor autonomously on a fixed schedule – for instance in the morning after check-out and in the afternoon before check-in. Your staff handle the move between floors, for example housekeeping on their rounds. This way no lift integration is needed, and the workflow stays simple and robust.

Do robots disturb guests?

Experience shows the opposite: robots work quietly, give way to guests and – especially among children – tend to be seen as an attraction. We schedule cleaning times so they do not interfere with hotel operations. And where an area is sensitive, it is simply left out.

In-room delivery and guest floors

Delivery robots bring items right to the room door; for moving between floors, a lift integration is possible – depending on the lift system – and is assessed on a project-by-project basis.

From breakfast to service

In the breakfast and restaurant area, service robots relieve the team with serving and clearing, especially at peak times.

Reception and guest communication

Reception robots greet guests, show the way and answer standard questions – multilingual on request.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions from the hotel industry

Does the robot need a lift integration?+
Not for floor-by-floor cleaning: the robot cleans each floor autonomously, and your staff move it between floors as they pass by – the simplest and most robust workflow. Whether a lift integration for delivery robots is possible and worthwhile in your property is something we clarify during the site assessment.
How loud is the robot – including at night?+
The machines are designed for quiet operation and are suitable for noise-sensitive environments. Cleaning corridors and lobbies during off-peak hours and at night is therefore well feasible; we align the exact times with your hotel's routine.
How do guests react to the robots?+
Overwhelmingly positively – the robots are seen as a sign of modernity and well-kept cleanliness. They move predictively, give way to guests and stop when someone approaches.
How long does set-up take while the hotel remains in operation?+
After the site assessment and demonstration, we set the machine up turnkey – mapping, routes and docking – and train your team. The timeframe depends on the size of the areas and the conditions on site; day-to-day operations are disrupted as little as possible.
What happens if there is a fault at the weekend?+
Most faults are resolved via remote access. The service package includes binding fault-resolution times; if an on-site visit is required, a technician from our DACH-wide network attends.
