Challenges

What care homes are facing today

01
Staff shortages everywhere

It is not just care staff who are in short supply – housekeeping and cleaning are chronically understaffed too. Every hour freed up there benefits the residents.

02
Safety in residential areas

Residents with rollators and wheelchairs share the corridors with the cleaning operation. Technology has to give way, travel slowly and, when in doubt, stop – reliably.

03
Budget pressure & evidence

Operators expect reliable quality at predictable costs. Documented cleaning performance provides the basis – run by run.

Knowledge

Cleaning robots in care homes: safe, quiet, cost-effective

Care homes have a lot of floor space and too few staff: long corridors, dining halls, foyers and residential floors need regular cleaning while housekeeping is already working at its limit. Autonomous cleaning robots take over exactly this recurring baseline workload – on a fixed schedule, with documented results. What matters is a concept that fits the building: which areas, which times, which routine for the transfer between floors.

How safe is the robot around residents?

The robots navigate using sensors and cameras, detect people and obstacles, and give way or stop. We adjust speed and routes to the environment; busy periods – such as mealtimes – can simply be left out of the cleaning schedule. During onboarding we accompany the first runs together with your team.

How does the floor-by-floor concept work without a lift connection?

The robot cleans each floor autonomously. For the transfer, a member of staff pushes it into the lift – in passing, without a dedicated trip. That keeps the technology simple, and one machine covers many floors on a fixed weekly schedule.

Does it pay off for our facility?

That depends on floor area, cleaning frequency and labour costs. We calculate conservatively: real-world cleaning rates, real gross wages including non-wage costs, openly stated assumptions – no window dressing. We discuss the result transparently, including the question of purchase, leasing or rental.

Acceptance among residents and relatives

The robot works calmly and predictively. Team training and transparent information for residents and relatives support acceptance.

Working alongside external service providers

In the cobotics model, the robot handles the floor cleaning while the service provider takes on the demanding tasks – without duplicated work.

Purchase, leasing, rental or Robot as a Service: we recommend the operating model that fits your needs and budget.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions from the care sector

How loud is the robot in residential areas?+
The machines are designed for use in busy indoor spaces and are considerably quieter than conventional cleaning machines. We schedule cleaning times so that rest periods are respected – the exact figures for each model can be found on the product pages.
How do residents respond to the robot?+
Experience shows a high level of acceptance. The robot moves calmly and predictively, stops when someone approaches and gives way. Team training and transparent information for residents help everyone get used to it.
What happens if a resident is in the robot's way?+
The robot detects people via its all-round sensors, slows down and stops until the path is clear, or navigates around the obstacle. It never forces its way through.
Who takes care of maintenance and consumables?+
We handle that as part of the service package: annual maintenance including the DGUV V3 inspection, remote monitoring and replenishment of consumables. Your team can focus on care.
Can we start with one machine on one floor?+
Yes. Starting with one machine on one floor is the norm. After a demonstration, set-up and training, the deployment can be extended to further areas.
